Out of Hours Project Worker - 4 roles

Salary:

£18,000 – £19,000 plus an anti-social allowance of £650

Full time role:

Full time roles are 37 hours per week

Part time roles are 22 hours per week

2 x Out of Hours – Project Worker (Part time – 22 hours)

 

Salary: £18,000 – £19,000 plus £650 anti-social allowance

 

Hours: 37 hours per week and 22 hours per week, to be worked flexibly and to include weekends, bank holidays and evening work.

 

We are looking to appoint four reliable and dedicated individuals to support people in a flexible and creative way when accessing activity and support on afternoons, evenings and weekends. This role will be in addition to the day service and somewhere safe to stay hub and will be working alongside these services to offer more opportunity for people to access services when they need it most. The service will provide a safe space that will ensure the people accessing it feel welcome, listened to and supported. It will give the opportunity for practice to be person centred, to assess individual’s needs and plan with the individual how we can support them. Some of this will largely centre around housing options, substance misuse needs and mental health support. However also recognising the importance of therapeutic practice and the value in doing creative and fun activities. It will be vital to engage with other services and understand the value of multi-agency and collaborative working to best meet people’s needs. This is the first service of its type in Gateshead and will also serve the wider North East region.

 

You will be the first point of contact for people accessing support and will actively ensure the security of the building and guests, monitor CCTV systems and complete relevant building checks as needed. The ability to deal with complaints and ensure the health and safety of guests and work with guests to resolve conflict using de-escalation skills where appropriate. You will accurately record messages, update log books, and handover reports and update our INFORM system where appropriate.

 

You will hold an NVQ Level 2 in a relevant qualification and have at least 2 years’ experience of working with vulnerable groups including people who are homeless including experience of health and safety and safeguarding.

 

The applicant will have exceptional interpersonal skills along with a mature and flexible approach with the ability to work calmly under pressure. As this is a role which covers night shifts you would be expected to work anti-social hours so the ability to be flexible is essential.

 

However, it will be an occupational requirement that a practising Christian is needed for some specified roles. This will be highlighted in the qualifications section of the job description and will be clearly stated in the job advert.
