18.5 hpw. Initial 12 month contract with a view to extending; funding dependent.
An amazing opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, experienced and skilled Financial Capability Worker passionate about what they do to establish and deliver our financial capability pilot project that will support vulnerable people across the reach of the Oasis South Grimsby Hub. This is an exciting new venture between Oasis Hub South Grimsby and Oasis Community Housing.
The successful candidate will work with local people 1-2-1 to provide personalised support to improve their financial situation; increase their ability to manage money independently, promote sustainable financial stability and reduce personal debt.
The post holder will help to recruit and develop local peer advocates/mentors to help sustain support in the longer term and will also help research and evaluate the impact the project has on challenging the damaging effects that financial hardship, disadvantage and poverty has on families/individuals to help us determine the future scope of this work across the Oasis Hub South Grimsby.
You will be qualified to NVQ3 or equivalent with previous experience of supporting vulnerable people deal with a wide variety of financial crisis and of providing continued support, learning and guidance to prevent re occurrence. You will have an in depth knowledge of the benefits system and of the barriers financially excluded people experience. You will also need excellent interpersonal skills and a flexible approach to your work, be able to work independently and as part of a team.
