Two Housing Officers
£18,000 – £19,000 per annumFull time role:
37 hours per week Monday to Friday.
Oasis Community Housing has been expanding our Basis Beds service in Gateshead over the last two years and plan to extend further over the next 12 months as well as develop the offer in Sunderland and South Tyneside. The project will provide an accommodation offer to those furthest from safe and appropriate housing in a service designed specifically for individuals with multiple and complex needs. Basis Beds is a same day access housing first style project with properties dispersed throughout the borough of Gateshead.
The postholder will be part of a team providing intensive housing management delivery in our housing service for people with multiple and complex needs. This post will be responsible for the housing management function relating to up to forty separate properties, ensuring that all health and safety obligations are met, the properties are suitably decorated and furnished, repairs and maintenance schedule, management of rent and service charge systems and other housing related tasks.
You will be qualified to NVQ2 or equivalent in a relevant subject and have experience as a supported housing worker including experience of health and safety, finances, safeguarding, needs and risk assessment, personalised and holistic support provision. An understanding of the benefits system and knowledge of drug and alcohol misuse. Prior experience and oversight of a portfolio of properties and housing management responsibilities are essential for this role.
